YOUR FRIEND, PARKER is a sweet Ready to Read book about friendship and letter writing. Gia and Parker are best friends, who love spending time together. Parker's family is going on vacation, and she is so sad that Gia cannot come too. Instead, she decides to write her letters while she is gone to tell Gia about all the fun things she is doing. The remainder of the story is 3 short letters written from Parker to Gia with images to illustrate the things she is talking about.

What I loved: This is a fun story about friendship and ways to connect with others from a distance. Letter writing is sweet way to connect, and the letters written are really cute. The letters describe what Parker is doing on her family trip with imaginative and colorful illustrations. The amount of text on each page is brief, making them turn quickly and allowing early readers to focus on the words. The large and clear font is also great for this purpose. The backmatter includes a story about friends who wrote, Zora Neale Hurston and Dorothy West, which adds some educational value!

Final verdict: A sweet Ready to Read book, YOUR FRIEND, PARKER is a cute story about friendship and letter writing that will work well for sharing with early readers.
