Vampire Academy was an amazing book. I liked how there isn't just one type of Vampire. There are the Strigoi, Moroi, and Dhampir.

Rose and Lissa were friends ever since they were in kindergarten. They left the Academy for two years for reasons that no one knew but them. When they are forced to come back to the Academy things get way more complicated for them.

I liked the friendship between both Rose and Lissa and how they would do anything for each other.

I don't think that I have a favorite character so far for this book. It is a very hard decision. I Love Christian , Lissa, Dimitri, and Rose they are all amazing characters with different personality and depth.

Vampire Academy is defiantly one of my favorite books now. I love it and I want to read to rest of the books in this series.

Rose is a member of a half-human, half-vampire guardian class dedicated to the protection of the elite vampire-pure bloods called dhampirs. Her job, or future job, is to protect Lissa, a Moroi or full vampire, who just happens to be her best friend. Rose supports Lissa emotionally, guards her physically, and when Lissa makes bad decisions that could get her into trouble with the school authorities, Rose steps in and takes the blame then, too.

Lissa deserves and reciprocates Rose's devotion. She's an incredibly loyal friend, and repays Rose with the trust and esteem she deserves. She's also gifted, or cursed, with the ability to heal as well as unusual powers of mind control. But her gifts are both forbidden and costly.

This book is intriguing because is has a mix of action, romance, mystery and humor. The friendship between Rose and Lissa makes this book gives readers something to relate to and eds up hooking the readers' attention.Rose's snarky, outgoing, and sarcastic personality adds humor whereas Lissa's shy, compassionate and troubled life adds sympathy and emotional attributes. The next book in the series is Frostbite.

Copy: Hardcover signature edition, gifted, personalized

L: Honestly, when I read the synopsis of this book, I thought, Whatever. But I decided to give it a try. After all, my best friend was singing its praises and shes never done that before, except for Harry Potter. So I was like, Why not?

Vampire Academy was amazing. At first, I thought it was a superficial story vampire and half-vampire teens living at a boarding school, seriously? but before I knew it, I become more and more wrapped up in the mysteries of the book. What was happening to Lissa? Who was causing it?

And of course, if youve ever heard of VA at all, youve definitely heard of the romance between Rose and her mentor, Dimitri &

I adored Roses witty lines, Lissas caring nature, Dimitris wise remarks, and Christians sarcastic comments. I loved the chemistry and romance between the amazing couples in this book. I loved the mystery, the danger, the adventure, the fighting. It reeled me in.

I loved this book. Seriously.

Rating: 5 out of 5 letter blocks

Sexual content: Kissing and references to sex
Profanity: Slight swearing
Violence
: Well, Rose is learning to be Lissas guardian, so shes going to have to be in training &
Other notables: Underage drinking

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy's

my review

My favorite New vampire series, the vampires are unique, royals are to be protected and they can control one of the elements(ex. fire, water, spirit... etc)and then there's the other species call it starts with a d-(i'm just gonna call them d-vampires)they are trained to became the royals guardians. Rose protects lissa(bff's) they ran away from vampire academy a few years ago, soon they finally get caught and taken back to school.they had their teen problems like rebelling, love, social status problems. I just loved the story. Richelle Mead is an awesome writer. I love this book. I'm always looking for a new Vampire books. I totally recommend it for vampire lovers.

From back cover:
"Only a true best friend can protect you from your immortal enemies...
Lissa Dragomie is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with an unbreakable bond to the earth's magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest and most dangerous vampires - the ones who never die.
The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that runs through Rose Hathaway, Lissa's best friend, make her a Dhampir. Rose is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from the Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making her one othem.
After two years of illicit freedom, Rose and Lissa are caught and dragged back to St. Vladimir's Academy, hidden in the deep forests of Montany. Rose will continue her Dhampir education. Lissa will go back to being Queen of the elite Moroi social scene. And both girls will resume breaking Academy hearts.
Fear made Lissa and Rose run away from St. Vladimir's - inside the Academy's iron gates their world is even more fraught with danger. Here, the cutthroat ranks of the Moroi perform unspeakable rituals, and their secretive nature and love of the night creats an enigmatic world full of social complexities. Rose and Lissa must navigate through this dangerous world, confront the temptation of hidden romance, and never once let their guard down, lest the Strigoi make Lissa one of them forever..."

The back of the book is a bit misleading to me because it makes it sound like Lissa is the main character of the novel, when really Rose is. To me, this is a good thing because I really like Rose... I think Lissa's perspective of situations would be a lot more boring. Vampire Academy is one of my favorite books. Richelle Mead creates an interesting world and does a great job of explaining the complexities of what it means to be Moroi, Dhampir, and Strigoi. I really enjoyed the romantic plot lines as well... that was probably one of the more addicting aspects of the book! 10 out of 10!

This book series is one of the best YA vampire book series I have read. The plot flows and the action keeps the reader hooked. There is also romance that adds to the story but doesn't take over. The relationship between Rose and Dimitri is believable and grows through out the books. Rose is a strong lead character and is well rounded.
