I read this book over summer and I thought it was magnificent, I loved every character and all of the points of this book: this book is about "souls" being incerted into humans brains so they can live, the "souls" are only about 3 inches long. when the "souls" started to take over humans, they tried to escape but not many did, but a soul that still had the actual human in them, her name was Wanderer (or Wanda), and she had directions to the place where her crazy uncle had made a map too. So Wanderer set off to find them and she did, and all the humans hated her because they thought that she was going to kill all of them. Two of the humans were Jamie ( the human inside of her's little brother) and Jared (her old Boyfriend) but wanderer fell in love with them. And there were Ian and Kyle (thier brothers)- Ian ends up loving Wanda and Kyle keeps trying to kill her. So it ends up this book is very unexpected and astonishingly interesting.

The Host is Twilight author Stephenie Meyer's 'adult' novel about an alien race taking over Earth. There's fight and courage, love and strength woven into every word as we follow Melanie Stryder/Wanders story.

I, personally, believed The Host was far better than the Twilight saga which Meyer is known for. It had a crisper, more heart-wrenching story and drew me in deeper than her other series.

In this modern story with thoughts towards "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", Stephenie Meyer blends the human fascination for the unknown as well as the horror. When Wanderer, Wanda, takes over the body of Melanie, she expects the girl's mind to fade away, as usually happens, but Melanie remains in the back of her head, struggling to regain control over her old body while Wanda is the one running all the shots.

Through a twisted love triangle, Wanda digs into Melanie's thoughts and manages to produce where humans are living. Struggling to find this place, she learns that human desire for compassion and love is something she has never experienced, but doesn't push away. Though, with Melanie in the back of her mind, not all her thoughts or actions are her own.

Wonderfully written and beautifully portrayed, Stephenie Meyer's newly crafted tale carries a spin as romance envelopes both characters trapped within one body. A wonderful science fiction book for people of all ages, THE HOST is an exciting, untold story which will shock readers.

I really didn't like this book too much because when you first start to read it,it gets so confusing! You don't know if the girl is talking or if the souls were talking. But anyways, it's about a girl who sees the world getting taken over by these souls and she's the only one in the begining who can control herself. She goes long trips to find her true love but the other soul inside her loves that same person. Who will get that love, the girl, or the host??

I do recommend it for teens if you have the time to figure out who is talking in the story! But, still good book.

When i first started reading this book, i was very confused. But then, as i took it slower to let my mind process it, i started to enjoy it, and couldn't put it down. This book to me was a spine chilling thriller. In some parts i laughed, cried, and was literally hanging of my seat from being nervous. Stephenie Meyer has suck good writing in her books. If you haven't rad this book-do so now.

The Host is a magnificent trip into an innovative future of our world. Its a completely original story and you are sure to fall in love with the characters in a matter of pages. You travel with those characters and you end up feeling as if youve really been with them the whole time. The book is a tear jerking, completely lovely love story written by a master of love.
The thing I loved the most about this book was the love entanglement between Mel, Wanda, Ian, and Jared. I was kept in awe of how Meyer could possibly make the relationship work out in a way that would be pleasing for both Mel and Wanda.
I can't think of a single thing I disliked about this book. It is one of the best books I have ever read before. If you don't like Twilight you shouldn't let that stop you from reading this book.

This book is amazing! In some ways it is better than Twilight, which is not very common. I love how the author of this book is very creative and she always puts the best ending possible. This book was impossible to put down, and if you loved the Twilight Saga, then you will love this. I wish there was a sequel to see what else happens, to the rest of humanity. I recommend this book to everyone!

Okay not what I expected form Stephinie but love th e book.
The whole aliens taking over the earth was hard to get into at first but as i read more it drew me in. I love the fact that she discribed so many worlds in the book and then the whole human host rsisting and the alien letting go was a trip. the best part was when the decided to find a new body for the alien and imn the end it was obvious she was not the only to"Go Native" as the book said .Love to read more of her work
