What I liked:
Patricia loves birds, and growing up on her grandparent's farm, she learns a lot about birds. Being an artist is her dream, and she draws a lot of birds and even depicts the life of one she finds outside her bedroom window. While moving to the big city from her grandparent's farm was scary, and though she struggled reading, she embraced her love of birds, which opened doors for her classmates to join the local chapter of the Audubon Bird Club at Fremon Elementary. Because the local librarian shared the particular bird book with this author, she overcame her anxiety of struggling with reading and embraced what she loved.
Final Verdict:
If you're a fan of Libraries and birds, this picture book is the perfect one for you to read. It tells the tale of the author/illustrator's transition from farm life to city life and her difficulties in learning to read. One day, she discovers this palace, which holds the local library and the incredible artistry of John James Audubon.
