What I liked:
Nervous Nigel takes a perfectly normal situation that many children will enjoy and gives them words to express what they may be feeling stressed about. Maybe the readers in a family full of doctors want to please the family, so they start to work towards that goal but find that it is perhaps not for them. Kids hate to disappoint parents and sometimes make choices because they are unsure how to talk to them about it. They could enjoy a sport but more just for fun than the competition.
Final Verdict:
The illustration style is bright, textured, and eye-catching. A great book that can open up the discussion about things kids or adults might feel too much pressure about a sport or job. Nervous Nigel is a book about acceptance and not feeling stressed about how much you enjoy or do not enjoy things and that your family will be there for you no matter what.
