Inkheart (Inkworld #1)

In the novel, Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, Meggie’s father, Mortimer, has the ability to read people out of books and into them. Throughout the course of the book, many characters are read out from books and Meggie’s mother was read into a book one night when Mortimer was reading to Meggie. One of the characters that came out of the book, Capricorn, doesn’t let Mortimer try and save his wife and wants to use his powers for his own benefits. What will happen in order to save her?

The book is unpredictable because you don’t know what Meggie and Mortimer will do in order to save their mother. It gets very interesting because I think the setting is perfect for the mood. At times in the book, when the mood is gloomy, the setting is normally at night. I started liking the book, right when I started reading it because it contains many different types of fantasy, such as a magical creature. Although sometimes in the book it gets a bit boring, I’m always attracted to keep reading because the author uses detailed descriptions to describe every scene in the book. The author uses interesting dialogue by throwing in big adjectives making it more detailed. Also, there is always a picture of something related to the chapter at the end of each chapter. I personally like how the author uses pictures at the end of each chapter because usually the pictures are attractive. For example, one of them is the drawn picture of a characters pet. The drawings and pictures are really realistic as if you can imagine it right then. This gives a better picture of what is happening.

Throughout the story, the characters are believable because of their actions and character traits. Meggie is a young brave girl who goes on the journey to try and save her mother. They face many difficulties on the way. As the story progresses, She grows both mentally and physically showing more responsibilities that she can handle. On the other hand, Capricorn, an evil boss that came out of a book, is greedy and only cares about himself. He calls Mortimer to his village so he can make Mortimer read him books that will give him money, hoping to become rich.

Overall I would give this book a 4 or 5 star rating because sometimes I feel like the author can express more on something or make a different ending, but the book is still very interesting. I would suggest this book to anyone who likes fantasy and suspenseful stories. They will enjoy the book a lot.

Inkheart is an exciting tale about Maggie and her father, Mo or Mortimer. They are kidnapped by man named Capricorn on. He kidnaps them because he wants the Inkheart book. Mo accidently read Capricorn out of the book along with Dustfinger. Mo is forced to read Inkheart to read Corpon back into the book. Mo escapes on his own. Then they kidnapped Maggie. They finally figure out that she can also read things out of books. Read the book yourself to find out what happens to them.

This book was frabjous!!! I loved how Meggie quickly realized she had the power to read things out of books, like her father, Mo. I loved the storyline, it was well-thought. I loved the characters, they were so descriptive, and so fun to be with, to laugh with, to cry with. This book is a must-read for everyone! It's very interesting, long, but fun. It opened my mind to more possibilities to what can happen. This book has inspired me, that one day, I can write something as well, something original and new that everyone will love. I loved everything. I must say though, there are two things I loved the most. One was betrayal. I found it strange, how someone can just betray a person only to be betrayed by the person who told the betrayer to betray the person. The second thing I loved the most... was the bad guys. Hey, without them, there would be no story, no characters, no adventure. Read It. You Must.

Inkheart is a book about a girl whos father read her mother into a book, yes into one.

When something is read into a book, something is also read out, and what was read out was the antagonists of the book.

As she and her father try to run from the bad guys, she finds that she is quite special herself.

Inkheart is a book full of magic and mystery. The story is about a young girl, Meggie, her father, Mo, and all sorts of evil that they must face in order to survive. This is a book about book lovers. Not much can be said about this book other than that you must read it for yourself if you wish to understand anything at all about it.
They are making a movie about this book. It is to be released in a year or two, I think.

I could not put this book down! It was excellently written. The story is about a girl named Meggie and her father Mo. Mo has the ability to read things out of books. He once read a book called Inkheart and read 3 characters out of the book, including a villian named Capricorn. Mo had read Meggie's mom into the story by accident. This only part of the story though. So please read this book; it is a must read.

Ms. Funke weaves an incredible story with an amazing number of sub-plots that all tie together neatly at the end.

I really enjoyed this author's obvious love and respect for books. Inkheart if full of literary references to classic works that related to her own story. Reading this book has increased my gotta-get-read list by at least 4 books.

The author's style is different from any other I have read. She is not beneath introducing main characters and major plot elements close to the end of the book. However, she is expert at interweaving these elements into Meggie's and Mo's story seamlessly.

I also enjoyed the author's commentary on being an author throughout the book.

This plot is fairly complex and has elements of vivid physical violence that may be difficult for some children to handle,but I would say it is free game for anyone over 12.

Upon receiving this book I was rather reluctant to read the book for it is massive. But once I started I couldn't stop. It has a truely unique thought behind, the concept that a man can read books to life was different from any other book. Eversince the arrival of Dustfinger, the book takes off and does adds twists and turns that only Ms. Funke could think of. I loved every part of this book! ^_^

I loved how the main focuss of the book was...BOOKS!!! The mystery in the begining of the book was great! I loved how there was a ton of characters involved in the book and how each of them had an amazing quality. i highly recommend this to people who enjoy reading!

Inkheart, by Cornelia Funke is one-of--kind fantasy about...books! With larger than life charcters and incomparable style, Cornelia Funke pulls off another page-turning fantasy.

Inkheart is a story about a girl, 12 year old Meggy and her father, bookbinder, Mo. The two of them are very close, since Meggy's mother disappeared long time ago. Then one night, a dark and stormy night, a stranger comes to visit. His name is Dustfinger. After that Inkheart takes the reader on spellbinding journey about books and the charcters they hold and ultimately, where your imagination can take you.

This is an excellent read from children to teens to adults. Perfect for anyone who loves books.
Highly recommended.
