this book is filled up to the binding in eximent. i won't let out any details of the story, but i can be shure you won't be disappointed by this heroic adventure. in a way itt also shows how the streanght of wemon is great by having a female hero. there are many twist and turns within this book but it is worth it to take time and read this book.

At the begining it is very confusing, but just keep reading. There are a lot of things that don't make sence but that is because it is a fantasy. You have to use your imagination. Once you get so far in the book, everything just fits together like a puzzle. You just can't wait to read again because the book yells at you to come and read it. Once you get to the end you'll be disappointed that it is over. That's why I suggest that when you are finished you should read its sequel "Inkspell". This is one of the best books I have read in my whole life.

First of all I would like to say that whoever reviewed this book on the main page of this site has his facts all wrong. maybr he should try reading the book again. I think this is a wonderful book and if people are going to write reviews on it they should get their facts straight.

This was the best book i've ever read. I can tell if any book is a good book because if it is, I should be in the bookworld( it's what I call the place I end up in while I'm reading a book).I already read the sequel Inkspell. Now I'm waiting for the third series. I feel tingly all over! Can't wait to see what happens next! Just to let you know, Meggie and Farid are having a relationship!

"Inkheart" is a wonderful story. I found myself falling in love with the characters. They each have their own personalities and are consistent with them. It kept me guessing and I didn't want to quit reading until I was finished. I have read it twice and still love it. Now I have the sequel, "Inkspell", and am about to start reading it.

Meggie lives with her father, Mo, who repairs and restores old books. They both love to read. What Meggie doesn't know is that Mo has a special ability to read characters out of books when he reads aloud, but with a catch-for every thing coming out of a book, something in this world goes in. This is why he never reads outloud to her. He always told her that her mother went away, but she was actually read into a book he was reading to them when Meggie was a baby. He read a "fire-eater" named Dustfinger; the bad guy of the story, Capricorn; and a few of his men also out of the book. Now both Dustfinger and Capricorn are after him and the book, but for different reasons. Dustfinger wants to go back to his world. Capricorn wants him to read a friend out. Capricon finds Mo and tries to threaten him to read out of the book while Dustinger acts as a double-agent between them.

P.S.-If you didn't already know, this book is going to be a movie, so you had better read the book first!

Mortimer is a bookbinder and has passed on his great love of books to his daughter Meggie, but he has never read aloud to her. When a stranger named Dustfinger appears at their home, Meggie's world turns upside down. She soon learns some startling truths --- about her mother's disappearance nine years earlier, and the mysterious book called INKHEART that her father tries desperately to hide at the book-filled home of Elinor, Meggie's great aunt. She learns that the reason Mo has never read aloud to her is because he has a secret, mysterious, dangerous gift --- when he reads aloud, objects and charaters come out of the books --- a skill he discovered when Capricorn, the dark villain of INKHEART, came into the world when Meggie was three. Teresa, Meggie's mother, disappeared at the same time, presumably into the story. Now they are on an adventure that has been experetely written by cornelia funke. READ THE BOOK!

Meggie's father has an ability to read characters from books to life ( really to life). When Meggie was little, her father read the book Inkheart, and something terrible happen. The evil, very evil Capricorn and his followers were released from the book, but Meggie's mother got in.
