I WISH tells the story of a girl's imagination of all the possibilities a gift can hold. The author tells this magical tale without words. The wrapping takes shape of whatever the girl wishes for and it's all kinds of things. From a dinosaur to shoes, the girl thinks of it all. But she her wish takes a turn when she thinks of her relative that's passed away. She tries building the presents up, but is unsuccessful.
A wish is like a present and this picture book can be taken so many different ways. People can see it as a a girl imagining her presents of the presents being a wish granted. Either way, it's the perfect depiction of how a picture speaks a thousand words. This book screams them even with it's simple illustrations.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this to younger children to stimulate their imagination of what they'd wish for. It puts presents and picture books into a unique perspective when words aren't needed and those are some of my favorite ones to share with my daughter.
