The sequel to Bloodlines, beginning with Quincey Harker's initiation into his vampire heritage.
There Mary Seward stays as well, driven from Transylvania and returning to take care of her father. And there the two meet. Mary sees vampires everywhere, and is frightened beyond compare, and as people begin to die due to a mysterious virus, Mary wonders if it has anything to do with vampires.
Dark and vivid, this book caught my attention fiercely. I am a fan of Twilight, but this book was so simply amazing and different: full of the dark call and rush of excitement.
If you like this book, I'd suggest Scott Westerfeld's Peeps.
