Here are the top five items I would need to survive the trip with Mabel.
1.) Pajamas.
Pajamas are an essential part of my adventuring wardrobe. Actually they’re the only part of my adventuring wardrobe. That tends to happen if you get kidnapped from your bedroom at the start of the book. If you were to come on an adventure with me you should probably be in your pajamas too. Otherwise it wouldn’t be fair.
2.) Cutlass.
I was given a cutlass when I joined the crew of The Feroshus Maggot pirate ship and I still have it. Cutlasses are great for repelling boarders, slicing through rope bridges, and cleaning beneath your toenails. I’d recommend a cutlass of some sort for most adventures. Ask your teacher or parent before purchasing one though.
3.) Toilet Roll.
Just because the author doesn’t include a scene about going to the toilet in a book doesn’t mean their characters don’t need to go sometimes. I bet even Gandalf needed a poo. Unless he has some kind of spell that… Anyway, there is no toilet roll in the jungle and very little onboard a pirate ship. So bring some please.
4.) Snacks.
Bring some snacks. The food in adventures is DISGUSTING. Pirates just eat weevil biscuits, and the only place I’ve found to buy food is Bogdan’s Offal Stop and I’m a vegetarian.
5.) A friend.
A friend is great to have in an adventure so bring one of those. If you haven’t got one spare then that’s fine. I’m sure we’ll be friends. As long as your prepared to be attacked by pirates, eaten by whales, and sacrificed by the evil witch queen of the Jungle, we’ll get on fine.
