The moon does so much for nature that people don't even realize. It guides a dung beetle home with its meal in tow and helps guide turtles back to the sea. Seeing it as a beacon for animals makes the reader look at the moon in a different way. Along with how it helps animals, the reader can learn about the different phases of the moon in the back of the book. There's also more information on animals and bugs who depend on the moon.

THANK YOU, MOON: CELEBRATING NATURE'S NIGHTLIGHT is a children's picture book that teaches about how the moon helps different animals survive. It's just as the title implies: a celebration of the moon and all its wonders. The illustrations are stunningly detailed with a darker theme so the moon really does seem like nature's personal nightlight. It makes for an educational bedtime story. I love the format because on one page is lyrical text about the moon and on the opposite is a fun fact that elaborates the "how" behind it.

Final Verdict: This books is perfect for children who love animals and are curious to learn what happens when the sun goes down. It's also interesting for those who are intrigued by the moon. I absolutely love how beautiful the details of the illustrations are.
