educational and fun lift-the-flap book
WHO DUG THIS HOLE? is a cute and delightful board book about animals that dig holes. The book asks about who dug different holes with large flaps that lift to show the animal and explain why they dug this hole. For instance, when it asks who tunneled a hole in the grass, it is the gopher who uses the holes to hide from other animals.
What I loved: This book is full of colors and cute animals with detailed and engaging illustrations. The large flaps are great for young children, who will love lifting them to see which animal uses the holes. The text is simple but teaches about different reasons why animals dig holes, such as woodpeckers who search for yummy insects or the fish who digs holes to lay eggs. The font is large and clear with strategic color changes for readability, making this an easy one to read aloud.
What left me wanting more: As a small thing, the flaps are maybe cardstock thickness, so they would be easy to rip by eager children.
Final verdict: A delightful and brightly colored board book, WHO DUG THIS HOLE? is an educational lift-the-flap read that will appeal to young readers
