JK made me cry!!!! Now thats just not nice! This book was great! The back story, the adventure, a bit of romance & broken hearts. Wow, JK just keeps getting better with every book! I am turning into such a Potterhead. You will not be disapointed it this 6th installment!

In the evils of darkness and a war coming to a begining. Harry needs to learn new spells to defend himself from the evil
With some new characters that would make you think what jk rowling was thinking about while reading this book.
The darkest and evilest book in the potter series this book will make u want to make sure that their is no such thing as magic in this world so u could stay away
Enter the world of jk rowling if you dare.

With Dumbledore back as the Headmaster, Harry and Dumbledorego on a search for Voldomorts hortexes.  Harry finds out hortexes are objects that a wizard can choose to keep part of their soul inside it, so if something were to happen to the body the wizard could still live.  While at school Harry takes classes so he can become successful when he leaves Hogwarts; one is potions.  Since he doesnt have some of the supplies he borrows some; one is an old textbook that has hints written in it by someone called the half-blood prince and Harry soon becomes a popular student in potions.  But who is the Half-Blood Prince and can he be trusted when it could mean life or death for Ron?  Harry and Dumbledore soon find out that Voldomort made seven hortexes. Dumbledore tells Harry two have already have been destroyed so they set out for the other five.  Will Harry and Dumbledore be able to destroy the other five hortexes?

I really can see why the narrator of these books has won some serious
awards! He does a great job of reading the book. I do somewhat wish
they had done a full-casting of these books, but one can't be picky. I
think I read too fast and when I listen to an audiobook, I get more out
of the book. It was nice to get a picture of what happened so I'm
prepped for the movie coming out soon!

Alas, it was bound to happen.  This installment of the "Harry Potter" series has us saying goodbye to a major and well-loved character.  (sorry, not listing who it is in case someone hasn't actually read it yet...imagine that!)  Harry and his pals are dealing with dark times indeed, as well as their own blossoming adolescence.  Friends are made, foes are made to choose sides, as the Dark Lord attempts to regain his strength through the many Horcruxes he left behind.  Can they stop what's coming?  Are they strong enough without their fallen friend?

Recommended for all readers, although young ones may need some consoling when the "deed" is done.  An overall fascinating addition to a great collection leaving you impatient for the final book.....happy reading!

Oh, this book. THIS BOOK. I loved it, even though it broke my heart. I loved it because Dumbledore finally enlists Harry's help in unmasking Voldemort's past with an eye toward predicting the villain's next move. The history of both Voldemort and of the other characters I've come to love (Snape, Dumbledore, Sirius etc.) is as superbly rich in detail and nuance as any of Rowling's tales. But what really sets this book apart is the ending. (I figure it's too late for spoilers, but I'll be careful anyway.) I cried. Even though I realized it had to happen so that Harry would step up to the role that has been looming over his head since birth, it was a LOSS. Amazing book.

This book was so awesome. I wanted to read more and more of it every second. The penseive is the one thing that I wanted to know more about and I did. It really left me hanging though. But it did give me a big enought clue of what the 7th book is going to be about. I just don't know what's going to happen withought dumbledore not being there to help. It was a great book and waiting till midnight just for it wasn't a waste of time at all.

As Harry enters his sixth year at Hogwarts, he's got plenty to worry about-- namely the war with Voldemort and the fact that he knows nemesis Draco Malfoy has something up his sleeve. But he also has plenty to feel good about, like the fact that Dumbledore has taken him into his confidence, and the notes that the Half-Blood Prince left in his potions book, which have saved Harry's bacon on more than one occasion. But what he does with his new found knowledge is another matter all together...

This is typical Potter, with plenty of mayhem, near-tragedies, quidditch, "growing-up problems," and suspicions for the first three-quarters of the book, and a full-blown battle at the end. Although it doesn't surpass Book 3 for my all-time favorite, Rowling did turn the intensity up a notch, and left more things up in the air than usual, setting up for what will certainly be an anticipated finale.
