A FLOWER IS A FRIEND uses poetic wording to show young readers how beneficial plants are to creatures. They can hide a mouse, feed a hummingbird, blow in the wind, and shade a frog. Some open during the day and close at night. After each line of what a flower does, there's another question to get the minds of children more active. It's thought-provoking and makes them think outside of the box. The correct answers to these questions are in the back of the book with some interesting facts and it's nice you're not left guessing because I was worried for a moment. The pictures are real photos with bold colors on the pages to correspond with them. Of course my daughter's favorite one was the mouse because she thought he was so cute.

Final Verdict: A FLOWER IS A FRIEND is a perfect book for children who love animals and nature and it'll have the reader looking at flowers in an entirely different way. This book is a celebration for how useful a flower is while recognizing their beauty. I never realized how much they do and that they aren't just there to look pretty or give a spot of color to a yard.
