i had to read this book for school and i felt it wasn't all that bad.

i had to write and essay and answer questions and there is alot of reading 'between the lines' things going on.

although, i felt the osprey wasn't reallt that important and i keep getting questions about it.

and it never really explain what the heck 'curse of the matts' was! it was like seperated throughout the whole book and we only had little sctions about it.

damn that was annoying to find quotes for my essay!!!!

but overall, i felt the book was very cleaverly put together and the story line was pretty good.
p.s:on the new years eve night, who would strip their friend naked on the bed, knowing their was a gut in the house!!!?!?!?!

A Bridge to Wiseman's Cove is an interisting book. At some times (especialy the begining)it can be boring but most of the time it is good. I had to read it for school and was shocked by some of the material, but as long as the reader isn't under 12 it should be ok.

A Bridge to Wisemans Cove is a very emotional book. It is about a boy named Carl, whose mother and sister has left him and leaves his little brother in his hands to look and care for. Carl was very depressed and extremely shy after his mother left and because he was shy of his fat. He then went to live with his aunt Beryl who was very mean and uncaring. He met a lady named Joy who found him a fulltime job at the barge in Wisemans cove. She was the mother of Maddie, the girl that he likes, and she is best friends with Justine. During the novel Joy takes care of Carl and Harley and soon allows Carl and Harley to live with them.

Carl soon changes, and becomes more confident and less shy about his fat. He also begins to open up and show his true feelings of his grief about his mother, he shows his grief to Justine and Joy and learns to reconcile his relationship with his mother.

I found it really hard to read Bridge to Wisemans cove. It wouldnt be my choice but I suppose it shows a great highlight to other critics. I found the ending great though.

I Read this book in class as a Text Study, I found it very intruiging and easily understandable from a Year Nine's (Ninth Grader's) point of veiw. I must say though, it was slightly dull and unsatisfying in parts, but, all in all, it was a great book and I highly reccomend it for further generations and younger years to read.

A Bridge to Wiseman Cove is a very was a very touching story and really opened my eyes to how kids and teenagers must feel when they are deserted by their guardians.

At the start of the story, it was really intriging how James Moloney described what the matt kids acted like and knew about each other. While getting into the heart of the story the author described the characters feelings in a very descriptive way which really let me understand the story more and more.

My fave part of the story was in the end when things were finally turning around with Carl. he had recognised and acknoledged all the bad things of being a Matt and had overcomed them and dat people is one of the greatest acheivements of all.

Unlike many other people who despised the book because they were forced to read it by their school teachers, I found the book to be extremely interesting and relevant to my life at this time.

Carl Matt sets a perfect example for myself and gives me something to work my life from, and he influenced me greatly.

I have to say, I don't think I will ever read a better book that is essential in my school's curriculum.

I read a review before and i totally disagree with what it said. A Bridge to Wiseman's Cove is one of the best books i've ever read... it tells about a disfuntional famaily where the mum leaves each year, leaving the kids to fend for themselves. but one time she dosn't come back so they go to wattle beach where there lives are going to change dramiticly.

The use of charecters and their personality are really clear and fun to read about
i totaly recomend this book

I chose this book to read. We are also reading this book at school, but I had already read it a couple of times. The main character, Carl Matt, is different to your average hero. Change of build and personality. He has spirit he is an excellent example that not every hero has to look like a hero. James Moloney can really write, I've read a couple of his other books. I recommend this book to anybdy with an open mind to new things. There are thrills all along the way!
