Let's just get this out of the way now: I still love the Percy Jackson series more. But that's really neither here nor there since this is an entirely different series and shouldn't be compared to Percy just because it's the same author.
I can't say this book was "Oh, Wow Awesome" for me, but I did enjoy listening to it. I especially love that there were two separate voice actors since the narration switched between Sadie and Carter.
I really like the sibling relationship between Sadie and Carter, especially since they start of a little estranged. It's not the type of relationship I get to read very often and I love what Riordan's done with this one. Sadie and Carter start to respect and truly care for each other throughout the story and it never felt forced.
There's definitely a good bit of lore to take in with this one. I felt confused and lost a few times, but it wasn't too big a deal. And part of that was probably me being a bit spacey anyhow. Still, I really liked the Egyptian lore since I can definitely say it's not something I've read before.
In typical Riordan fashion, the adventure takes place in multiple countries and places within them, all in the course of about a week. This means there's never really time to be bored.
The Nutshell: I would recommend The Red Pyramid to anyone looking to dive into a whole new world of adventure and mythology. There's plenty of action, humor, and heart to keep you entertained. I look forward to seeing what the second book brings!

Red Pyramid is an okay book. It's NOT as good as the Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
It's big strength is it being a page turner;
but it has alot of details it kind of overwhelmed me
I'd reccomend it to any one who read and liked the Percy Jackson and the olympians
i give it a 7.5 out of 10
