This book is one of a kind. It puts Cinderlla, Sleeping beauty, and all the rest to shame. Ella can defend for herself unlike the others I mentioned, in this book she travels on her own to get a gift [[horrible as it is]] to be removed. Her gift is the gift of obedience and it isn't always that great for her. She travels great distance encounters many obsticles and still finds love in this book which is the one and truly thing that ends up setting her free for her spell. This book is enchanting and loveable!!! I encourage all readers to pick this book up and jump into the story because I know I've do it atleast 5 times. Kudos for Ella Enchanted!!!

When she is given the horrible gift of obedience by the fairy Lucinda, Ella must obey whatever anybody commands- including chopping her head off! Determined to find Lucinda and have her gift taken back, Ella goes on an adventure that turns out to be more that just a quest. Along the way she makes many new friends. Falling in love with one particular young man keeps her from trully deciding that she must not be with a companion, unless she can break the curse. A beautifully related story of the well known Cinderella, Gail Carson Levine gives her own twist to Ella and makes her a unique, funny and a brave heroine to the story.

This book was fantastic and was way better than the movie. It captures the readers interest very quickly and in my opinion, once you start, you can't put it down. It may be a cliche, but the style in which it is written makes it original in a good way.

I really enjoyed this book. This is the story of Ella. The story begins when Ella's mother dies. Shortly after the death of her mother, Ella's father realizes that he is low on money and decides to marry a wealthy widow so he can have a bit more money. So Ella gets a new stepmother and two new stepsisters. After that, things get a little crazy. What I haven't told you yet is that Ella is cursed, so to speak. When she was born a fairy laided a spell Ella, a gift the fairy called it, so that she would always be obedient. I've told you too much all ready. But if you like fairies, dwarves, ogers and other magical cretures, evil stepsisters, princes, danger, and happy endings this book is deffately for you.

Ella Enchanted is a book that i would recommend to anyone who likes fairy-tale, true love, magic, and a bit of a laugh. It is the story of Cinderella, with explainations for the small details missing in the original tale.

Ella is a girl under a spell. She tries to find a way to break the spell when her step-family use it to their adventage. This quest became more desperate when Prince Char declare his love for her.

Right after she was born, Ella of Frell was given a gift/curse of being obedient from Lucinda, a fairy whose "gifts" were well meant but often went awry. With help from her fairy godmother, Mandy, and her friends, Areida and Char, Ella tries to break the curse in a series of events that are witty, funny, and altogether enjoyable! A retelling of the Disney classic Cinderella, Gail Carson Levine's Ella Enchanted is a truly spellbinding tale that will capture the hearts of readers of all ages.

Ella of Frell was born cursed with the "gift" of obedience. The gift? Well, it was given to her by the fairy Lucinda. Unfortunately that means that she has to do what anyone tells her even chop off her own head...

This book is very much like a fairy tale. Ella is a believable character that has everyone rooting for her from the very beginning. The villains are evil and of course, she has her very own charming prince.

One thing I know I shouldn't have done was watch the movie first, because it instantly pitted me against the book. Perhaps if I were younger and hadn't watched the movie I would've like the book better.

It's funny as we witness Ella's trials and tribulations in this novel, and it goes by quickly. Prince Char is charming as he should be, and just the over all Cinderella gets a little twisted theme is overall hilarious. However, I just felt it slightly childish in some ways (maybe I'm being too harsh)

I won't say I regret reading it though, cause I don't, and I suggest to anyone else to read it too. It was a great book, just not great for me.

One of the many verisons of cinderella this book is very cute. And was recently made into a movie. Although at times a bit corny, what can you expect from a fairy tale that has been told and retold over and over again. Is great for little gils, or girls of any age to enjoy and get lost in the fantsy of happily ever after.
