This book is considered to be one of Levine's best and I liked it, yet in my opinion there are a few faults in here. First of all, I was kind of upset with the names. For example, the name Peter is so commonly used in thousands of novels that I think I might explode. Since my name is hardly even thought of, I feel kind of bad. Eleanor is used most frequently to name mothers, and I think that when it comes to fiction, there should be more young girls who are named Eleanor, not mothers. And the name Lucinda is often used to describe a wicked lady. There should be more nice women and girls named Lucinda who are considered to be good guys.

One thing I know I shouldn't have done was watch the movie first, because it instantly pitted me against the book. Perhaps if I were younger and hadn't watched the movie I would've like the book better.
It's funny as we witness Ella's trials and tribulations in this novel, and it goes by quickly. Prince Char is charming as he should be, and just the over all Cinderella gets a little twisted theme is overall hilarious. However, I just felt it slightly childish in some ways (maybe I'm being too harsh)
I won't say I regret reading it though, cause I don't, and I suggest to anyone else to read it too. It was a great book, just not great for me.

One of the many verisons of cinderella this book is very cute. And was recently made into a movie. Although at times a bit corny, what can you expect from a fairy tale that has been told and retold over and over again. Is great for little gils, or girls of any age to enjoy and get lost in the fantsy of happily ever after.

This book was suprisingly good. I loved how the author, Gail Carson Levine, made Ella such a strong, lovable spririt. It is no wonder she over-came her life-long curse and got to have the life she always seemed to have deserved. It is also not suprising that she refused the title of Princess. That was funny.

Ella, the heroine, is under a curse by a fairy named Lucinda. She has to obey every command that is thrown her way? Can you imagine that?
Her mother has just died. Her father is a greedy businessman and her cook, Mandy, is actually her fairy godmother. She meets Prince Char at her mother's funeral.
After her mother's death, Dame Olga and step-evils arrive. Hattie, the older step-evil learns about Ella's curse as they head off to finishing school. It can't get any worse, can it?
Ella escapes from finishing school and enters a world of ogres, giants, fairies and fantasy. And there is always Prince Char...
This is the version of Cinderella that ends happily ever after.
I also recommend 'Just Ella' by Margaret Peterson Haddix.

This book is a great read for all girls who love fairy tale re-tellings.
Ella Enchanted is a re-telling of Cinderella in which Ella is cursed to always be obedient. She must follow all orders given to her at all times. She has to follow all directions given to her no matter what. Can she break the curse and marry the prince? Well, you'll have to read and find out!
