Every summer Joey and his sister Mary Alice go to their grandmoyher's house. Sounds plain now does it well it isn't. Grandma Dowdel is a top notch Granny. She will do any thing to defend her turf. Be prepared for a lot of humor, mischief, & suspense.
Honestly I would say this is a really good book because of the way grandma handles problems. A Long Way from Chicago is a quality piece of literature even though grandma and the citzens all use old grammar.
I would say A Long Way from Chicago is recomended for kids ages 10+ who love humor, mischief, & suspense all in one book. Plese understand that the dialect helps give a turn to the plot.
