I have followed the 'Clique' books very faithfully since they came out and I have to say, this one is my favorite out of all of them. So why just a 3? Because the characters are shallow.

Shallow, no depth at all. There are some instances where they reveal human feelings, but the majority of the time they are completely self-absorbed. So maybe that's the intention of the author, to make them that way, but then they could still be more three-dementional.

But the plot was good, comparitively better than the other books. The plot itself wasn't shallow, and that's what made it the best.

Why can't I put these books down then, if there are so many unsatisfactory elements to it? It is because that is how human girls are these days? They are exactly that shallow and self-absosrbed. And it is always interesting to read about yourself.

This ending was also the most satisfying and does reveal to you the human parts of these characters. And that's what made it the best one out of all the 'Clique' books.

From the name-dropping of celebrities such as Ashlee Simpson and Avril Lavigne to fights about boys, this novel is the worst yet of a bad seiries.

Massie, Claire, Kristen, Dylan, and Alicia are back, backstabbing, having sleepovers, and now, modeling for Teen People magazine. When "Cuh-laire" is finally accepted into the infamouse "Clique", and Alicia begins realizing her dream of becoming a " Queen Bee", the catfights that so often break out among girls of that age begin to occur, the Clique begins to fall apart. Claire gets invited to sleepovers instead of Alicia. Claire likes a cute guy, and he likes her back, but Massie likes him, too! Alicia makes friends with a EW (Eternal Wannabe) with a nose job (in seventh grade!). Kristen and Dylan don't know whether they should remain loyal to Massie, or join Alicia.

The only thing about the book that I liked was the name "Massie". That got me laughing every time I read the name.

The Clique... the only thing harder than getting interested is staying interested.

Reader reviewed by A Preteen Black Female

This must be one of the most horrible, shallow books I've ever read. It promotes girls my age to be shallow, stuck-up, spoiled brats! This story just revolves around 5 pretty girls with nothing else better to do than care about older boys, make-up, and popularity!!! They could be trying to help less fortunate poor people, and yet they're just whining over Dr. Juice, and spray tanning! I personally don't recommend preteen girls to read this as it will most likley bring down their confidence in themselves. (And also I'm not trying to diss Lisa Harrison, or anybody that likes the series.)
