It's live!! Cover Reveal: The 57 Lives of Alex Wayfare by M.G. Buehrlen + Giveaway (US Only)

Hello, YABC! We've got a special reveal for you today!

Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for THE 57 LIVES OF ALEX WAYFARE by M.G. Buehrlen, releasing April 14, 2015 from Diversion Books. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from M.G.:

Howdy, YABCers!

Today I get to share something extra special with you. The new, shiny cover for the new paperback release of THE 57 LIVES OF ALEX WAYFARE (April 14th, 2015)! The folks at Diversion Books, with extra special thanks to Sarah Masterson Hally and Kit Foster, have given ALEX a brand new look while still matching the old color scheme. I love the bold colors and lettering, and the glittering starry effect, which represents Limbo. I can’t wait to see how it looks in my hands. It’s going to be gorgeous.

Gorgeous!

I hope you love it as much as we do.

To celebrate, I’m giving away 57 pairs of Wayfarer sunglasses, inspired by Alex’s nerd glasses. 57 winners, those are some pretty good odds! Good luck!

About the Book

“Beautiful prose, an intelligent plot, and a heroine as fabulous as she is unique—I couldn’t put it down!” ~ C. J. Redwine, The Defiance Trilogy

For as long as she can remember, 17-year-old Alex Wayfare has had visions of the past. Visions that seem so real they leave her breathless, feeling as if she really was onboard a ship bound for colonial America, or rising to the top of the first Ferris wheel at the Chicago World’s Fair.

But these brushes with history are not simple jaunts back in time, nor do they come without a price. Alex’s visions wrench her from her life in the present without warning, returning her with mysterious wounds and inexplicable, lasting effects. Desperate for a normal life, Alex wants to discover the meaning of her visions and get rid of them once and for all.

It isn’t until she meets Porter, a stranger who seems to know more about her than she knows about herself, that Alex learns the truth: she is a Descender, capable of traveling back in time to her fifty-six past lives by accessing Limbo, the space between Life and Afterlife.

With fifty-six lifetimes to explore, historical secrets to unlock, and hidden treasures to unearth, descending back in time becomes irresistible to Alex, especially when the same mysterious boy with blue eyes keeps showing up in each one of them. But the more Alex descends, the more it becomes apparent that someone doesn’t want Alex to travel again. Ever. And will stop at nothing to make sure her current life, her fifty- seventh, is her last.

I absolutely love the new cover! It is bold and eye catching, yet still remains true to the original color scheme. I own the original copy already, but will definitely be purchasing this shinning new edition!

I like the new cover, but a part of me is still partial to the original. I'm resistant to change. *paranoid look* (But please, don't get me wrong, I really do like the new cover!)

But, along the lines of not judging a book by its cover, it doesn't matter how amazing or awful the cover is: the book itself is AMAZEBALLS. I've recommended it to almost everyone I know. LOL

I love the synopsis! And while I like the sparkliness of the new cover, I'm with Michaela. There's a part of me that loved the mysteriousness of the original cover. I am, however, hugely excited about the new publisher and the fact that Alex lives again! I hated saying, "You'll love this book but it's currently an orphan. Prepared to be crushed." whenever I recommended it. Which I did. Lots.
