It's live!! Cover Reveal: Ravenous by MarcyKate Connolly + Giveaway (US/Canada)

Welcome, everyone!

Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for RAVENOUS by MarcyKate Connolly, releasing February 9, 2016 from HarperCollins Children's Books. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from MarcyKate:

Greetings YABC readers! I’m ridiculously excited to reveal the cover for my next middle grade fantasy novel, RAVENOUS, today! It’s a companion novel to my first book MONSTROUS which has a cover I adore, so I could. not. wait. to see what HarperCollins came up with for this one. And they knocked it out of the park! The brilliant design team again worked with the incredible Skottie Young to create a gorgeous wrap-around cover design with just the right amount of creepiness. The main character Greta’s fierceness is wonderfully captured as she stares down something on the back cover. Really, the whole look and feel (and the color! Hello, purple!) is perfect for the book, and I love the way the hand lettering of the title harkens back to MONSTROUS. I can’t wait to see it wrapped around the pages of my book in February! I hope you all love it too!

About the Book

A witch has come to the city of Bryre. She travels in a hut that has chicken feet, and is ravenous for children. And once she gets what she desires, she never lets it go.

But when the witch captures Hans, Greta’s little brother, Greta refuses to let her have him. The two strike up a bargain. Greta will retrieve something the witch desires in exchange for her brother’s freedom.

To get the prize Greta must travel to Belladoma—a city where she was once held captive—which brings back terrible memories. With the help of a new friend, Dalen, a magical half-boy and half-horse, Greta embarks on the journey and tries to overcome both foes and her own weaknesses.

For fans of Monstrous and new readers alike comes the story of an epic quest and a heroine who will stop at nothing to save the one she loves most.

I LOVE the cover! It's so pretty and cute and it'll look absolutely gorgeous next to MONSTROUS. And the premise sounds fantastic. I look forward to reading!

My 8 year old daughter and I LOVED Monstrous and are very excited about Ravenous! The cover is very well matched in tone and elements. The synopsis has just enough to wet the appetite for more from MarcyKate's rich world.

I LOVED Monstrous and can't wait to check this one out! I was thrilled to get a signed copy of Monstrous from MarcyKate at BEA! And, seriously, who can pass up Skottie Young's awesome illustrations - I've loved his stuff since the Oz graphic novels!

I'm starting to love MG reads after reading The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls. I really like the illustrations a lot of MG reads have for their covers, and this is no exception. I don't think I've ever read a Hansel and Gretel retelling but I'm looking forward to this!
