Dream Boy

by Mary Crockett and Madelyn Rosenberg
Release date: July 1, 2014
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire

About the Book

If dreams can come true…then so can nightmares

One night Annabelle dreams of the perfect boy: tall and handsome with impossible blue eyes. Then, just as suddenly as he appeared, he’s gone…until he walks into her science class the next day. Perfect and REAL. The boy of her dreams. And when he brushes past her, he whispers “Annabelle.” Suddenly, Annabelle’s got the perfect boyfriend and a date to homecoming. Her life is like a dream come true...until her dreams stop and the nightmares begin.

About the Authors

b2ap3_thumbnail_mary.jpgA native of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Mary grew up as the youngest of six children in a family of misfits. She has worked as everything from a history museum director to a toilet seat hand model. In her other life, she's an award-winning poet, professional eavesdropper, and the person who wipes runny noses.

b2ap3_thumbnail_madelyn.jpgThese days, I continue to work on stories for children and adults, as well as essays, articles and newsletters. We still need insulation and a new liner for the chimney. Which is all a long way of answering the question: Why do you write? I write because it’s pretty much the only thing I can do. I play the guitar badly, I cannot clean, and I’m no good at math. I write because it keeps me sane. I write because I love telling other people’s stories as well as my own. And I write… I write for heat.

I can run and jump and fly. People can't see me fly but I'm up there. I was flying around a huge store and I could get down so I was sitting in the metal beams watching people. I was hoping to fly out the door when it opened.

I can't ever remember my dreams. It's like flashes & then it's gone. It's kind of creepy but my family has weird . . . sleeping habits? I wake up a lot feeling as if I've had a conversation & my jaw is sore. I find I talk in my sleep. There have been times I've laughed & woken myself up. I might dream of talking w/ a friend & thought . . was that real? Anyway, My last dream was of me & my mom yelling, I think.

My most resent dream that i can remember would be being trapped in some huge mansion. In this mansion I was running from something, but i don't remember what it was. Doing so, i remember bumping into people i know, yet i don't remember who they were once i woke up. I remember hiding somewhere with a guy. (lol i know right?) The thing was just about to get us, and i woke up.
    It was pretty intense. :P
