Today we're hosting the cover reveal for INSOMNIA by J.R. Johansson!

Let me tell you, this cover is CREEPTASTIC. I can't wait to hear what you think of it!

Before we get to the goods, here's a message from Jenn:

Hello YABC! Welcome to the exclusive cover reveal for INSOMNIA!

I consider myself a creative person, but I cannot draw/paint/sculpt or anything of that nature. My handwriting is barely this side of legible. If I’d created a cover for my book, it probably would’ve featured stick figures hiding in shadowy hallways or darkness-filled dreams. In short, it would’ve been terrible blobs of pencil-scribbles. So, I’m very grateful to my amazing cover designer, Lisa Novak, and the genius people at Flux for crafting this gorgeously creepy cover for my debut novel, INSOMNIA. I love the eye, the kissable lips, and the way the cracks radiate out. But more than anything, I love that it conveys the perfect atmosphere for my book. My response when I first saw this was as follows:

1 – Shiver

2 – Whisper, “Whoa…”

3 – Lean in to study it closer

Feel free to do the same. :)

Cheers!
J.R. Johansson

Insomnia final

See what I mean?! CREEPTASTIC! EEP!

Here's what INSOMNIA's all about:

It’s been four years since I slept, and I suspect it is killing me.

Instead of sleeping, Parker Chipp enters the dream of the last person he’s had eye contact with. He spends his nights crushed by other people’s fear and pain, by their disturbing secrets—and Parker can never have dreams of his own. The severe exhaustion is crippling him. If nothing changes, Parker could soon be facing psychosis and even death.

Then he meets Mia. Her dreams, calm and beautifully uncomplicated, allow him blissful rest that is utterly addictive. Parker starts going to bizarre lengths to catch Mia’s eye every day. Everyone at school thinks he’s gone over the edge, even his best friend. And when Mia is threatened by a true stalker, everyone thinks it’s Parker.

Suffering blackouts, Parker begins to wonder if he is turning into someone dangerous. What if the monster stalking Mia is him after all?

Doesn't that sound fascinating? And just as creepy as the cover suggests... Now it's time for a giveaway! Jenn is giving away an ARC of INSOMNIA (when they are available) to one lucky international winner, plus a sweet prize pack!

The prize pack will include: A dream dictionary, pills for INSOMNIA (a.k.a. Tic Tacs), a bookmark, chocolates (may or may not be from Finland – YUM!) and other assorted stuff Jenn finds around her house.

Also, the winner can choose who will sign the ARC! Jenn, Jenn's cat, or Jenn's 7-year-old son. I'd personally choose the cat... :)

To enter, fill out the form below. Good luck!

I do love the image, especially the fragments of glass, but all the fonts are rather cliche, the skinny crackly title font in particular.
