When in Paris...Hot
Zach’s good looks may have always gotten him his pick of girls, but it's the star quarterback’s skill on the football field that gives him his pick of the Big Ten colleges. To escape the crushing demands of his win-at-all-costs father, Zach opts for a private university in upstate New York where...his present and past collide. And the one girl he’s always wanted but can’t have—and a class trip to Paris—turn out to be the ultimate game changer that has him breaking every one of his rules.
This is the first book of 2013 that I've read. I started the evening of 1/1 and finished up early afternoon of 1/2. This was a fantastic way to start off my New Year.
Beverley Kendall, has wowed me once again with this very sensualicious (my term)tale of two college kids who fight against the sexual lure they have with each other. It's like an emotional cat and mouse game that keeps you engaged until the end.
I have to admit that I was slightly skeptical about reading a book based on two college kids, since I'm a 31 year old woman, but I was hooked from page 1. After reading the synopsis, and getting the opportunity from Beverley Kendall to read her new book, I was giddy with excitement to get started.
I was immediately transported back to being a college freshman. When I was 18, I was already in long term relationship...now, I'm married to that man. Reading this book, made me remember how I was. At that age, a woman in love is on an emotional roller coaster; Beverley Kendall has captured this perfectly in the character of Liv. She also does an amazing job with Zach's character. I absolutely loved how the book was laid out. Beverley Kendall uses the perspective of both Olivia and Zach. This technique really gives the reader the best of both worlds. Like the saying goes, "there's two sides to every story," and Beverley Kendall accomplishes this perfectly.
I can't say enough good things about this book. The New Adult categorization works. I'm not sure it would be appropriate for anyone under 17, but there's a note warning readers about this. The subject matter is sexual in nature, so if I had a teenage daughter, I'm not sure if I would approve of her reading this (even if she were over 17). With that said, I'm an adult, and I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and I'll probably read it again. Then again. And, most likely, again. This easily makes it on my favorite contemporary romance shelf.
The sexual tension and loves scenes certainly got my pulse pounding. All those delicious flutters reminded me what I felt like as a teenager...ah, teen love *sigh*
This is book #1 in a series LANGUAGE OF LOVE. It looks like April and Troy's story is up next; maybe after that Becca and Scott's? I certainly hope so. I'll definitely be continuing with this series.
Beverley Kendall does not disappoint. Her books are engaging, sensual, and simply amazing. She's a very talented writer, and a great storyteller. It's no easy task writing a book with such a great pace and flow, but Beverley Kendall has accomplished this perfectly.
I highly recommend that you purchase this book and read it. Although I have this on kindle, I'm very tempted to purchase a physical copy. It's just one of those books that I know I'll return to over-and-over again.
Go to your preferred online bookstore and click the BUY button, sit back, and enjoy the read. Get ready to fall head over heels for Beverley Kendall's When in Paris. Merveilleux!!!
