John F. Kennedy's Profiles in Courage takes a whole new look at politics and the true courage that it takes to be a politician. This book shows us that more politicians then we think did amazing acts to further this country along. All of the stories in Kennedy's book talk about people who went against the tide of popular opinion just because they were doing what they thought was right. All most all of these people ended up being shunned for what they did but they did it because they felt that it was the right thing to do. Kennedy is trying to show us that you don't always have to do what the popular opinion want you should always do what you feel is right. In Profiles in Courage Kennedy covers stories from the beginning of the country to the 1940's. What I enjoyed about this was the fact that Kennedy didn't talk about the well known politicians he spoke about those people who we don't hear about since they did what they did. When he wrote these stories he truly made you feel as if you were part of the story not just reading it.
