Vlad is a half-human who just happens to love chocolate and blood. Hes also a high school student. Eleventh grade becomes even more of a challenge when Joss, vampire slayer and former friend, moves back to Bathory with one agendakill Vlad. On top of that another vampire Dorian comes to town to help his uncle Otis during a trial but finds Vlads blood irresistible. Plus, DAblo, his former foe, is back to no good. Even with all of this, nothing can prepare Vlad for the future which might not be what he hopes.

Minions unite! Ive been a fan of Vlad since the first book Eighth Grade Bites. What I love about this series is how Brewer shows us a teen who battles not only hormones and whether or not the cute girl at school likes him but with being a half-vampire. He loves chocolate chip cookies and Capri like containers of blood. The emotions that Vlad deals with are very real. I also love how this story is told through the eyes of a boy. With each book Vlad grows as does his trials. This book is a tad bit darker as Vlad struggles with his calling as Master Pravus and his conflicts with his vampire side. His relationship with his uncle Otis grows too.

Readers cant help but cheer for Vlad. Page turning scenes build up to the cliff hanging ending that will make you cry out for more!

Sure to be a favorite of Vlad minions as well for those who are looking for a vampire series with a real bite. Highly recommended!
