Gone, Baby, Gone
4 year old Amanda is kidnapped from her house one night after her mother left her alone there while she went to the bar. The mother is not sympathetic at all, she is a horrible mother and a horrible person. She doesn't seem to care that her daughter is missing or what may have become of her. Two private detectives, Angie and her man, Patrick are brought in by the mothers sister-in-law to help. What follows is a look into the sad realization of kidnappings and what happens to everyone who is touched by them. The story gets tangled at times and some of the smaller characters who should be players in the book are forgettable. I had a hard time believing some of the plot points. The ending is pretty heartbreaking in its realism, not a bad book, but not a great one either.
