From the beginning, this tale captivated me. Starting off with the memorable quote "Now, what I want is Facts" this book goes on to demonstrate the workings of a city during the Industrial Revolution. In this world, facts are renounced as being the key to success, and creativity and imagination are unconditionally put down in the family Hard Times is about.
This dramatic novel is about the social, human and economic commentary Dickens states. As the themes rely across, one is really able to see why this novel is proclaimed a classic: from the round, dynamic characters to the selective setting, and to the inner battles within the main characters. The plot of the novel is the farthest of which you should look forward to: instead concentrate on the themes and character development relied accros.
