No More Dead Dogs
This book was a very fun read. it was funny and different. It was really realistic and i like all of the humor. I could relate to all of the characters, and it was fun to be in someone else's shoes. if you want to just have a fun day off, i would recommend this book.
Wallace Wallace is the star of his school. After scoring the winning touchdown in the championship, everyone things he is some huge football star. Unfortunately, Wallace just isn't that great, and he gets all this fame for one touchdown after sitting ont he bench all season. But it is too late, he is famous. His best friend Steve, (called by his last name, which I find hard to spell) seems to positively have his afterwards. Then, one day, he gets detentinon for, earnestly, not liking a book. Wallace is temporarily banned from football, and everyone is furious. Wallace is bored to death, so he thought he'd improve the play, which is based off the book he disliked. Â He is very bored, but at least its something to do. Oh, yeah, Wallace can't write a false report to get off detention and back into footbal, because, ahem, Wallace has never told a lie.
"no More Dead Dogs" is a light-hearted book about a middle school student who breaks tradition when forced to write a book report. The story line sounds perfect for young adults, but the book itself was disappointing. It moved too slowly and we never really get to know the characters.
I taught this book to my 7th graders last year and most of them did not like it. In my opinion, if the majority of my 152 students don't care for a book, that's like getting the word straight from a huge group of experts!
