The Coldest Winter EverHot
the book was off da chain i have never ever read abook like that in my life yhe one thing i like about it is that winter is strong and seem that she will never back down on anything .The part ilike in the book is how winter have her own hustle going on in the place she had been put in i forgot what it is called anyway you have did a wonderful job writing this book
To say the least, this is the best book I have ever read. I recommend it to people all the time, yet I get a response from them saying they are tired of reading books about the ghetto and hip hop. I try to explain to them time after time that this is not a book about hip hop or the ghetto, it is a piece of literature, that in my opinion, should be read in schools along with Shakespeare and The Great Gatsby. This is a book that EVERY young female and male, of all races, shapes and sises should read at one point or aonther. There is so much to be learned from the book and Sister Souljah's writing is so beautiful and detailed it feels as though you are seeing what she is writing. Everyone can one way or naother relate to an event or character in the book. The book is so full of teachings and so powerful that I have to admit it is my favourite book to this day. I am super exited for the sequel, and if there is one, the movie.
Thank you so much Sister Souljah for making a book that I can truly call a classic.
This book is really dedicated to young ladies that are trying to grow up too fast in the ghetto areas who are trying to make it with what little they have. Like for instance your dad is in jail, your mom turned into a crack addict, and your sisters are in and out of foster homes, and you are just trying to bad all by yourself, but it ends up working out for the worst.
AT FIRST ITS LIKE U CANT PUT THE BOOK DOWN. U JUST KEEP READING AND READING AND READING. AND AS U GET INTO IT, IT JUST BECOMES MORE AND MORE GREAT!! SISTER,SOULJAH REALLY GAVE GOOD DETAILS IN THIS BOOK. ITS REALLY GOOD FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALES I BELIVE. I REALLY LOVE THIS BOOK CANT WAIT FOR MORE. AND I RATHER SAY THAT U SHOULD READ NO DISRESPECT BY HER IF U DIDN'T!!!!
* * * * * (five stars goes to dis book)
THE BOOK WAS GREAT MAKES ME WANT TO READ IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. IT SHOWS WHAT REALLY GOES ON IN LIFE EXSPECIALLY FOR SOMEONE LIKE ME WHO LIVES IN A HOOD LIKKE THAT WHERE THERE IS ALWAYS VIOLENCE
Hip-hop artist and political activist Sister Souljah writes a book about a spoiled, rich teenager who enters a life of crime when her drug lord father is busted. During her adventures throughout the streets of New York City, Winter runs into none other than Sister Souljah, who in the novel takes on the role of a wise social reformer who attempts to place Winter on a brighter path.
I loved this book I think its one of my favorites!!!
I love The Coldest Winter Ever. It has its own hip-hop ghetto flavor vide to it. I grew up around music (rappers, singers). This book will make you want to read more. I enjoyed it. The best book I have read and actually wanted to finish it.
There are two types of good books: ones that hook you at the very first sentence and those that you continue to read until one day you find that you can't put them down. I think this book was a mix of both, but two-thirds the latter (by the end of the first day I had flipped through one-fifth of the book and couldn't put it down when I was finally forced to).
Now this isn't the book for the conservative, the mainstream or the trashy. This is a book with a purpose, even if the language used by the ghetto-born narrator may seem otherwise. This story is so wonderfully laid as if it was real, in all dimensions. I think if you are game you can enjoy this great story about street-life and life in general.
I love how Souljah put herself in this book and put herself in such a negative light, showing her dual personality. I love how the story, in addition to the ending, the attitude and authentic deep characters added up into a clear message when you finally turned the last page.
It was excellent. A book that I couldn't find one flaw with. And if I enjoyed it, you can to. (Finally a contemporary book with a message).
this book is so bomb! when i had read tha first chapter i was so into this book i had to put my man on hold fa this book! man its tight sister souljah no her stuff and knows whas really good. i mean this is a book that i can also relate to.
This was the best book I ever read. The story was exciting from the beginning to the end. The story is also very easy to relate to and should be a lesson to young ladies. I think all young ladies should read this book as well as anyone who is searching for something to inspire them.
