When Eleanor receives startling news about someone from her previous criminal life, plans for a new operation coinciding with her school's upcoming field trip quickly consume her. HIDING LIES is the second installment in the Eleanor Ames series. It begins with Ellie and Miles saying goodbye since Miles has to go to Turkey with his parents. It's not long after that that Agent Sheldon reveals that things didn't work out for Ellie's mom like they'd anticipated. Ellie's mom will remain in jail for a long time.

The only way Ellie can free her mom is by catching her dad. For that reason, she's at it again. The stakes are higher this time and Miles isn't around to help as much so she enlists the help of Dominic. Even worse, Miles seems to go missing. Ellie must rely on her instincts to get out of her predicaments alive.

HIDING LIES is a young adult thriller and the suspense had me on the edge of my seat at times. I love Dominic's character and how he and Ellie grow closer as friends. I love the con artists/mob feel to HIDING LIES and even though I haven't read the first one, I was still able to enjoy this one.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this to fans of thriller, mobs, suspense, and authors like Ally Carter.
