It’s a hot, hot summer, and in the depths of the Toronto Transit Authority’s Lost and Found, 17-year-old Duncan is cataloging lost things and sifting through accumulated junk. And between Jacob, the cranky old man who runs the place, and the endless dusty boxes overflowing with stuff no one will ever claim, Duncan’s just about had enough. Then he finds a little leather book. It’s a diary filled with the dark and dirty secrets of a twisted mind, a serial killer stalking his prey in the subway. And Duncan can’t make himself stop reading.

What would you do with a book like that? How far would you go to catch a madman?

And what if time was running out. . . .

Talk about a book you can't put down. This quick read is worthy of its title. When a teenage boy finds the diary of a would-be stalker and murderer, he feels compelled to track the criminal down before he harms another woman. This quest becomes personal because the protagonist was unable to save a drowing victim the summer before. It is a tale of redemption, of coming full circle, of feeling the weight of the world, all the while still trying to be a kid, suffering through a first job and dealing with parents. With a stunning high-octane ending, this is sure to please both readers of true crime and mystery.

This was a fantastic thriller! One of my favorites, for sure. I loved the plot, which was complex and well-thought out. It was interesting reading about how the narrator was trying to find the deranged serial killer, Roach, based only on his secret journal. Roach's character was described wonderfully, and certain chapters made me so anxious to see what would happen next! If you like a good fast-paced, intense thriller, I really recommend you read this book.

The only reason I even picked this book up was because of it's slightly odd cover, but once the book was open, I just couldn't stop! The sarcastic comedy had me telling anyone in the same room quotes, and the suspense kept me on edge for thew entire time.....definately a must read!

A thrilling, emotional roller-coaster of a read. Once you pick up this book, you will not be able to put it down. I read this book with a grooup of people and even the one who absolutely never read said that it was the best book he'd ever read in his life. This is the tpe of book that is written with elaborately interwoven ideas and occurances that leave you desiring to discover more and more every minute that you read. Also good because it is reasonably short, and wll not take long to read no matter what our age is.
All around a marvellous read.

Worst Book ever. Boring plot, executed even worst. Has no symbolism, no feelings expressed. No images are formed in your head and the reading and immersion of the book is poor. You just don't picture much and it doesn't bring you in. One of the worst books ever. Go read Joy Luck Club for a good read.
