The book starts off where "Dawn" ended. Dawn is attending a musical school in New York. She is happy because she finally got away from the Cutlers and she is waiting for her boyfriend, Jimmy to come back from the army. At the school she meets the handsome and talented Michael Sutton. Michael promises to make Dawn into a star. Dawn gets too caught up in the "magic" that she forgets about Jimmy and has an affair with Michael. Eventually Dawn gets pregnant carrying Michael's illigitimate child. Michael leaves her. What will happen to Dawn? Will Jimmy forgive her??
