As a modern gladiator's daughter, Lyn and her family live by the rules of the Gladiator Sports Association. But those rules can turn against you. When Lyn's seventh father dies in the ring, his opponent, Uber, captures Lyn's dowry bracelet—and her hand in marriage. To win her freedom, Lyn will do what no girl has done before: enter the arena and fight her father's murderer—even though she's falling in love with him.

I enjoyed the premise of this book. Very unique from all the dystopian and paranormal I usually read. :) The author does an excellent job of building a gladiator culture and steeping her story in it. Lyn is a smart, brave heroine, and I agonized with her over her situation. Her back is against the wall, and no matter what she chooses, someone is going to get hurt.

This is a fairly easy read with a sparse, fluid writing style. I would've liked a bit more depth, a bit of lingering in the emotional or romantic places, but I really enjoyed the book overall and can definitely recommend it.
