Victorian era romance with murder, intrigue, gypsies, and music. Heroine Dahlia Talbot is a musical genius trying to grow up in strict Victorian era. Her musical abilities affect inspires both adoration and envy in the people around her. James Kent falls in love with her while another man wants to marry her to his son for financial gain. Her world is transformed by a series of 3 tragedies foretold by a gypsy when she is a child. The last of these events silences her music and robs her of her memory of what happened. She finds herself married to James and living in a Scottish castle without any recollection of how she got there. Despite his love for her, James must create a web of lies to protect her from the truth of what really happened and why. As Dahlia regains her memory and learns the truth, only the realization of what true love really is will bring her back from the brink of despair and allow her music to complete her once again.
Great characters that are believable - each has their own strengths and weaknesses. Unique story line and the heroine, Dahlia, has the unusual ability to hear music in her head that she associates with people, animals, and places - unusual. Liked the gypsy storyline. Actually 3 loves stories tied into one, with 3 murders and intrigue.
