When Rocio moves from Central America to the United States with her parents, she feels a bit homesick. She misses her grandmother along with her stunning handmade piñatas and delicious food. So, she makes a wish on the stars to see her family soon. The next morning she wakes up to the most amazing surprise that's almost her wish come true. It's a care package from her grandmother full of things from Central America and a picture of her family back home. On the box is a message that says "with lots of love" and it brings tears to Rocio's eyes.

WITH LOTS OF LOVE is a novel about immigration and how hard it can be when the children miss their family back home. I can't imagine how difficult it is to pretty much restart your life in a new country and this book symbolizes all of those emotions children feel. The color scheme is a bit dark with the brightness of stars to guide the way to happiness. The overall message teaches children the importance of family and how they'll be with you no matter how far away they are. They're still a part of you along with their love.

Final Verdict: WITH LOTS OF LOVE teaches children about immigration and how difficult it can be. It's also a great story for children who are going through a similar situation to let them know it's normal to feel sad and miss their family.
