THROUGH THE NORTH POLE SNOW is a sweet story about Santa and friendship. A little fox is digging through the snow at the North Pole when it finds a place to call home with an old man. The man is worn out and full from cookies but offers it a meal and a place to stay. The little fox stays and sees how the man spends his year making toys before the letters arrive and he labels them. The story ends with a sleigh and reindeer arriving and the little fox traveling with him before they both return home together.

What I loved: This is a sweet picture book about friendship and understanding. The little fox and Santa form a relationship by spending time together with companionship throughout the year. This ends up being a quieter and softer story about Christmas and Santa than typical, and it is quite soothing to read. The illustrations are also lovely and lush, bringing the characters to life alongside the gentle story.

Though the plot is subtle, particularly at first, children can appreciate this gentle story about Santa and the work that he puts in to create these toys and get them to children. Told from the perspective of the fox, this is an intriguing new twist.
