THE TREE BOOK is a great nonfiction book all about trees. The book features a clear peek-through tree on most pages, which peels away to reveal details that go with each topic. The book covers the basics about how trees grow from seeds, how they get new leaves, how leaves change, fruits and seeds, insects and animals that use trees, but also how we can help take care of trees.

What I loved: This book uses simple language to explain complex topics to young readers. Each page goes into detail that will help young readers understand how trees work and all the cool things they can do. For fans of learning about nature, this is a great starter book to introduce trees and their parts and growth. The clear peek-through images are really cool, and I appreciated that key animals and insects are labeled by number, so that children or caregivers can understand which they are. The images are colorful and illustrate the points being made well without overwhelming the reader.

Final verdict: An educational guide to trees, THE TREE BOOK is an entertaining exploration of trees, how they work, and interesting facts. Recommend for elementary school aged readers and young middle grade readers to explore all about trees.
