Written from the puppy's point of view, it shows how special the bond between a boy and his dog truly is. When Max tries to find his first boy, he has a hard time keeping up with the one he finds. It isn't until the "right one" comes along that he discovers how wonderful it can be to be a child's pet. The illustrations point of view are both unique, and delightful!
