Once there was a mouse who carried a house on his back. He always knows where he needs to be each time he stops for the night. Sure enough, the next place he unloads holds lots of animals in need of shelter. Each time the house doesn't seem like it's going to be big enough, the mouse surprises them and he doesn't turn a single one away. Even treats them to dinner which is a kindness most don't possess. How many animals will he shelter by the end of the night?

THE MOUSE WHO CARRIED A HOUSE ON HIS BACK is an engaging story that also teaches about kindness and the importance of helping everyone. To not discriminate based on size or out of fear. In each illustration, there's a cutout in the shape of a house. Sometimes it'll show the face of different animals. Other times there's a solid color. Either way, my daughter was excited to see what would be in the house each time we turned the page.

Final Verdict: Overall, this was a cute read that's perfect for fans of animals with a dash of humor and a heap of kindness.
