In a world full of ancient magic, betrayal, and those seeking a place to belong, darkness is spreading.

A lonely queen loves a man she cannot have. A soldier fights to find his family. A merchant's daughter tries to prove her worth.

But not all hope is lost.

When a thief and his crew are caught and cursed as immortals, forced to join a war they have no part in, a prophecy is set in motion. The stars have determined their destinies; they have connected them all across the kingdoms.

And one day, their truths will be discovered.

One day, a stubborn princess will decide her own fate, and she won't stop until every last one of them is set free.

~*~*~ Welcome back to the world of the Nihryst! This exclusive collection has five short stories and twelve bonus chapters told from various characters' points of view. Some can be read on their own, but others do go with the first three books and contain spoilers. They will be marked appropriately, giving plenty of warning!

Cait Marie brings us back to the world of the Nihryst in this collection of short stories and bonus chapters. The first two short stories take us into the past to Loxley and Mariella's time together. It puts things into perspective when you get to witness how the curse truly began and the point of view on how and why. We also see the chain of events that occur after. The next two short stories are about how Brienne and Ren met Lee and what prompted them to join his crew. I love both of these two characters so enjoyed the extra content involving them. The last short story is my favorite and takes us back before THE LOST LEGENDS to see the relationship between Ada's parents. I love seeing Ada's mom since we hear about her but don't know much about her.

In the bonus chapters, we get insight into the point of views of our three guys, Phillip, Shane, and Lee, and also a bonus of Kal, which is sort of like an opener into the next of the series. Each has a heading where on the timeline the bonus chapters take place. Some take place during the Nihryst series, while others shows us what happens after.

If you haven't read the Nihryst series, I highly recommend doing that first. While each chapter is labeled with possible spoilers, you won't enjoy these tales as much without knowing the full story, especially the bonus chapters. THE LOST DREAMS takes us on a journey into both the past and the future and I love every second of it. These stories are fast-paced and I love witnessing the back stories that led to Ada's adventure to search for the Nihryst.

Final Verdict: THE LOST DREAMS is a nice addition to the Nihryst series and an intriguing opener for the next book to come. Highly recommend to all fans of the Nihryst series and if you like fantasy, romance and myths then you should check out THE LOST LEGENDS!
