Clementine wakes up alone in the forest with no one to teach her about what she is. After many guesses and a near miss with a bat, a little girl finds Clementine and helps her get to others like her. The illustrations were rich and inviting. The story reminds me a bit of Disney’s The Princess and the Frog when the glowbug loves the moon. The story is straightforward but leaves room to feel like Clementine and the girl will meet again and her journey has just begun. I do wish there was a bit more plot because nowhere does it have anything explain to Clementine what she is which was her central question. Overall, young children will be drawn in by the illustrations and the sweetness of the plot while older children might need a bit more depth to consider a reread.
