The Forever Song (Blood of Eden #3)

I'm a HUGE Julie Kagawa fan. I adore her Iron Fairy series, and I was completely hooked on the Blood of Eden series as soon as I started. Thank you so much Netgalley and Harlequin Teen, for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I don't even know where to start. This book gave me all the FEELS. I could not wait to get my hands on it after reading the last book. But, the wait was worth it.

What I Loved:

The characters!!!
Allie is still strong, fierce and a force to be reckoned with. I love her character so much. she is an outstanding female lead that all girls can look up to. She doesn't take crud from anyone!

Jackyl. He is such a selfish vampire, but I love him anyway. There's just something about him that makes him endearing. I love that Ms. Kagawa can write a "bad guy" who we can still love! And I'll just say he had a few surprises up his sleeve in this book.

Kanin. I love this character. He is a positive influence on the lives of everyone around him, and I hurt for him and his suffering.

Sarren. Okay, I don't love him...but he adds so much to the story! He is so ruthless and horrible. However, I can honestly say that I've never read about any character like him and his actions kept me on the edge of my seat and my heart in my throat the entire book.

**mild spoiler if you haven't' read previous two books**

Zeke. We knew at the end of book 2 that he is still alive and I've been so scared for him since I finished that book. And oh my goodness, Sarren did horrible things to him. I was not prepared for Zeke in this book. I don't want to give too much away, but let's just say my heart, literally, has never beaten so hard over a character. EVER.

The storyline.
Oh my goodness. I mentioned above how fast my heart was beating. I literally have never been so scared in a book before. I could not lay down to read this book. I had to sit up and I was biting my nails and going crazy the entire time! I was (quite literally) on the edge of my seat the entire book. Wow. Julie Kagawa is a MASTER. *bows* Hats off to you my friend because you are outstanding! I had expectations for the ending of this series, and she blew right past them and exceeded anything I could've ever dreamed of for the ending. Amazing job!

What left me wanting more:

Um...nothing. I am fulfilled to the highest with this series. I'm in awe of Julie Kagawa's talent and will forever read anything she writes. Outstanding, outstanding, outstanding

The Forever Song is the riveting conclusion to the Blood of Eden series that is sure to have you on the edge of your seat with your heart in your throat!

Just like The Immortal Rules and The Eternity Cure, the latter of which I thought might literally kill me, The Forever Song is filled with moments that will make you laugh out loud and others that will break your heart in only the way that Julie Kagawa can. (If you're me, this means one of two things: Either you get caught pleading out loud with the book, or you have to go hide in the bathroom because you hate crying in front of others.)

One of the things that I so enjoy about Julie's writing, besides her amazing world-building and releatable characters, is her ability to make hope shine through even the most hopeless of situations. This is true of Allie, who, despite all the odds stacked against her, never gives up hope. Ever. Not for the future, which looks pretty grim for everyone, or the people around her even when it would be safer to do so.

Julie's knack for infusing humor into intense and often gory scenes is highly entertaining as well, especially since you don't realize she's just stabbed us in the feels until it's too late. (By "us", I mean, character and reader, because let's face it, we're all in this together.) And though she has the tendency to make it seem as if we're on an extended vacation in the pit of pain and suffering, she never leaves us there. She always brings us out the other side and her reasons for doing what she did makes sense.

The Forever Song truly is one of the best final books there is! Bravo, Julie Kagawa! And yeah, I'm sad to leave this world and these characters, a few of whom I never expected to care about, (Jackal, I'm looking at you.) I am VERY excited for Talon!
