In the second book starring Westchester County's most privileged middle schoolers, the Clique declares Massie a hero for hosting the first boy/girl Halloween party of 8th grade. Massie's already hired Landon Dorsey, the hottest party planner in the 9-1-4 area code, but her parents insist she has to invite the entire class. Unfortunately that means everyone. Layne is bummed that the boys will be there -- she IMs Claire that's so "DESPR8" -- as Claire wonders if maybe a boyfriend will make her happy.Meanwhile, Massie and the Clique are fighting over who gets to invite Derek Herrington. Dylan thought it was obvious that she was the one who danced all night with Derek at the OCD benefit last month, but says "Whatevs" when Kristen gets all weird about it. Fine, she can have him. He was a terrible dancer anyway and there will be tons of guys to choose from at the party....

I read this book ages ago, but I still remember it clearly. The most memorable part is the Halloween party, where Massie stoops to new levels to embarrass Claire. This book is good, certainly not boring, but it's not deep. These girls are pitiful really. Shallow. I think this is the last book I read in this series.

i think this bok was also good. again, i think it's funny how this clique is because of the way they talk, they act, and just how they live. the people in this clique are ridiculously rich and yet they act so mean! isnt that so ironic? i always wondered what made them so grouchy, maybe it was the fact of their ego? but in the end, i like this book because it let me feel like i knew how it felt to be a clique girl... in a way

As we learned in the previous book, THE CLIQUE, Massie is queen of the seventh-grade social scene. She smugly takes her royalty for granted until the day she overhears a girl saying that Massie is "so over." In alarm, Massie decides that she absolutely must host a boy-girl Halloween party to maintain her status, but she knows her mother will never go for it. Then she comes up with a plan. Her parents want her to be friends with Claire --- who is currently living in their guesthouse --- in the worst way. Hmmm.

Claire and Layne continue to be tight, but Claire secretly still yearns to be part of Massie's in-group. Then Massie comes to her with a proposal: pretend they're friends and their delighted parents will give them anything their hearts desire, which just happens to be that Halloween party, complete with boys. Claire, who is ready to find a boyfriend, agrees.

Score! The parents fall for the "friends'" party idea. Massie is ecstatic until her pal Alicia informs her that kissing games are always played at boy-girl parties. Massie secretly panics at the very idea, while remaining outwardly cool.

Massie also worries when two of her friends argue viciously over a boy. If her clique splits up, then she'll no longer be the A-list leader, party or no party. Massie panics when Alicia starts hanging out with Olivia, a girl from outside the clique --- the horror! Massie surely isn't going to let Olivia into her group, so what's going to happen to her friendship with Alicia?

When Massie and her friends make a daring fashion statement at school, it backfires. The consequences are dire for the entire student body. Massie knows her reign as queen could very well be finished forever; in fact, she'll be lucky to survive the wrath of her classmates. She needs a friend, and Claire steps up to the (fashion) plate. Massie wavers...maybe the two of them actually could be true friends. But some foreshadowing suggests something --- or someone --- may come between them.

Meanwhile, someone close to Massie betrays her in the most shocking and underhanded way imaginable. Revenge is in the air.

BEST FRIENDS FOR NEVER is another quick, fun, enjoyable read...and this one has a perfect cliffhanger ending. So, quick! On to the next Clique book!

Book Review

Have you ever read a really good book that you just couldnt put down? I have its a realistic drama fiction book called Best Friends For Never from the clique novel. The setting of my book is in Halloween of 2006. There is two main characters Massie and Claire. They go to O.C.D. private girls school. The book is told in third person.
At the beginning Claires family moved into Massies guest house till they bought their own house. Their dads were friends in collage. Massie hated Claire, but Claire wonted to be friends with Massie. It was Claires dads birthday. They were eating with Massies family. Claires brother Todd spilt juice all over Massies new skirt! Massie went upstairs to change, when she got a call from her friend. She said that two girls were having a coed Halloween party. Massie needed to make her party better then theirs , so she did. The day that they were able to were there costumes to school Massie and her friends got in trouble for showing to much skin. By then everyone thought that if Massie showed to much skin then that must be in so everyone started showing a lot of skin and got in trouble. So then the school decided that the girls had to were uniforms. The school held a fashion show and which girl or girls that won would have everyone were there uniforms to school.
I would defiantly recommend this book to others. I suggest that you read the first book Clique to help you understand more. Best Friends For Never was a page turner because the author Lisi Harrison described the characters and sense very well. I think that many other young adults could relate to this book just like I did because the characters are the same age as I am.
Best Friends For Never is a really good book that a lot of people could relate too. I hope that many others enjoy this book as much as I did!

In the second book by Lisi Harrison, Uniforms come to OCD, Alicia finds a new friend (who has a new nose), Claire almost starts to...FIT IN, and Massie throws a fab Halloween. How does all of this happen, you ask? Read the Clique, Best Friends for Never to find out.

This was a great book with good plotting and was just overall great. This book was actually a little better than the first one. I didn't think that it would be.

My favorite part was when Massie held her first boy/girl party and Alicha's cousin walked in and everyone's attention was on Alicha's cousin.

My friend Meagan got me into these Clique series of books. I got the first book, and I read it in 2 days because i just simply couldn't stop reading it, I loved the book. At first i thought the girls, (Massie, Kristen, Dylan, and Alicia) were inoccent and the title The Clique had to do with other girls, but when i got to reading, i found out more, and even though all these girls are sneaky and mischavious, i still love reading the book and i think this is a book I can relate to in a little ways. I think the meanest thing they did to Claire was dump all that salt, gazpacho, and veggie soup on her while she was by the pool. I can totally relate to Claire, because sometimes i feel alone and lonely, and as said in the book, like 15 cents. Overall, I just loved The Clique, and i fully intend to get the reat of the series.

Best Friends for Never is the second book in THe CLique series. It's time for Halloween, and Massie wants a boy-girl party! With a little scheming she gets what she wants. Massie, ALicia, Dylan, and Kristan find the hottest costumes: Dirty Devils. They wear them to school and end up making the school uniform after girls try to copy them! Will THe CLique be able to clean up the mess they made?
