SUBMARINES (All Aboard!) looks like a board book meant for young toddlers but don’t let the cover fool you. This book has seriously large vocabulary words like hydrostatic pressure, ballast, buoyancy, and other words needed to understand the history and mechanics of submarines. The different topics in this book were fascinating. I had never thought about what submersible is there to help when a submarine needs repairs. This book of facts about diving down deep makes it perfect for an older child in second -third grade to read themselves. Overall, the illustrations and the board book style pages make this book seem like it is meant for younger children but the concepts are complex and there are plenty of facts to learn about many aspects of undersea exploration and the ways we accomplish it.
