Kate Blessing life as the daughter of a mob king continues in Mob Princess: Stolen Kisses, Secrets, and Lies. This second book in the Mob Princess trilogy picks up where the first book left off, after Kates fling in Atlantic City with Nick Blattaria, the son of the Blessings rival organization. While Kate and Nicks romance might sound West Side Story-esque, both teen know that there is so much more at stake than just their feelings for each other in any potential romance. Kate loves her father and is willing to do what is best for her family, even if that means not seeing Nick anymore.

And what should Kate want with Nick anyway? She has a loving, caring, reliable, trustworthy boyfriend in Teddy Fitzgerald. Maybe his parents arent quite as taken with Kate as their son is, but Teddy is sure that they will come around. Kate has always wanted to get out of the crime business and live a legitimate life of wealth and happiness, and her relationship with Teddy seems like the gateway to the stable life she desires. But for some reason, Kate just cant seem to get Nick out of her head.

Kate is wishing that boy troubles were her only troubles. Lately, the Blattaria organization has been encroaching on Blessing territory and the rival gang has become increasingly bold and powerful. The Blattarias are on the rise and it seems like only a matter of time before they overthrow the Blessings completely. If that wasnt enough, her mother has finally left her father, and by the looks of things, wont be coming back anytime soon.

When her father is forced to start carrying, or keeping a gun on him at all times, Kate knows that the stakes are higher than ever before. Kates struggling to stay afloat and one wrong move could be her last.

Todd Strasser does a remarkable job of humanizing Kate while she deals with very dramatic and serious issues. Anyone who is a fan of The Sopranos or liked the recent movie American Gangster will enjoy Kates life in the fast lane.
