Julia heads to her grandmother's house for the first time by herself. While there, she realizes that there's something different about Grandma. She's special in a way that she can always tell when Julia's going to need something and weaves the best stories. When Julia starts missing her home, Grandma knows just how to cheer her up too. What started as an intimidating thing morphed into something magical. After spending a while there, her parents finally come to get her but it's with a big surprise.

SOMETHING ABOUT GRANDMA is a heartwarming children's book that gives props to how amazing grandmothers are and how there's just something special about them. It's a multigenerational story that is a perfect tribute to special grandmothers that's inspired by the author's relationship with her own grandparents. The illustrations are cute with soft colors to make this a great bedtime story. It also makes for a good resource for those families about to bring in another little one to the world.

Final Verdict: Overall, this is a sweet story for children to share with their grandmothers and it would make a great Mother's Day gift for those grandparents who enjoy to read with their grandchildren. It's common for children to go to their grandparents' house when their parents are having another baby so this can help shed some insight on the situation and make children more comfortable with the idea of staying at grandma's for an extended period of time.
