SOMEDAY is a lovely picture book about growing up and making memories. A little cub and his mother are settling down for the day, when he asks about growing up. While his mother tells him that he will grow up like a tree someday, for now, they get to enjoy their time together and make memories that will be like his roots when he is an adult. At the end of the story, the little cub is happy to be a sapling for now and settle down to sleep with his mother.

What I loved: This was such a soft and sweet story about the love between mother and child as well as growing up. While children will grow up someday, their childhood is also important, and there is much that they can experience and enjoy that will build their roots for the future. The book reads softly, which is perfect for bedtime, and the illustrations are also gentle and lulling as they use key colors on each page leading into darker colors as the bears settle down to sleep. The images are full page and really lovely, capturing the love between mother and child throughout.

The font remained relatively easy to read on each page, even in low light settings, and I would definitely recommend this as a pick for bedtime. It's gentle, sweet, and leads towards rest. As the content is broad, it will work well for toddlers, preschoolers, and young elementary school aged readers alike.

Final verdict: SOMEDAY is a lovely story about growing up and the love between mother and child that works beautifully as a bedtime pick.
