SO COOL! DINOS is an entertaining non-fiction read that introduces dinosaurs to young readers. With bright colors, photograph-like illustrations, and lots of cool facts, this will definitely give dinosaur lovers some new things to talk about! The book talks about basic types of dinosaurs (carnivores vs herbivores), the evidence they left behind, and what we think happened to dinosaurs (asteroid).

What I loved: This is a highly entertaining book with bright colors and speech bubbles for some added humor. The book is written with a conversational tone and plenty of humor that will keep children engaged. The illustrations throughout are really cool, with a photographic style that brings the dinosaurs to life. Although most of the facts won't be new for dinosaur lovers, the book makes them really entertaining and includes things about dino doo-doo and other fun facts.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, this might be tough for sensitive readers when it talks about how dinosaurs are named "terrible lizard" plus their intense teeth and then speaking about the asteroid that killed them. For most elementary school aged readers, this would be fine, but it could be tough for younger, sensitive children. Also, even though it talks about how many dinosaurs are now believed to have feathers, few of the illustrations display this.

Final verdict: A collection of fun facts, SO COOL! DINOS is an entertaining picture book that uses bright colors, humor, and conversational writing to teach about dinosaurs.
